Early Intervention
Through Early Intervention, your infant with a developmental disability may receive physical, occupational, speech and educational therapies at home beginning shortly after birth. Before embarking on a plan of therapies, the Department of Health will send a representative to your home to initiate the Early Intervention process. You will then have the opportunity to choose an agency to evaluate your child. You may choose Prime Time for Kids as your evaluating agency . Only after the evaluating agency has had an opportunity to observe your child and to speak with you, the parent, will suggestions be made regarding the best course of action. Should you choose Prime Time for Kids, we will continue working hand-in-hand with you, the parent, as we arrange for therapeutic services to take place in your home or at a location most convenient to you. The goal here is to intervene with appropriate services as early as possible in the life of a child with a developmental disability.
Pre-school
Our beautiful facility is located at 70 Phillips Hill Road in New City, New York. Here children with and without disabilities play and learn together. Our pre-school is designed with the individual child in mind. Depending upon a child's needs, therapeutic services are built into the individual curriculum for that girl or boy. Prime Time for Kids pre-school is open from September through June for children ages 2.9 through 5. Half and full day sessions are available. Prime Time's inclusionary philosophy means that children with and without developmental disabilities learn and play together. A summer session is open to eligible children with developmental disabilities who require year 'round therapeutic and educational services.
Day-care
Our warm and caring day-care program is located within the Prime Time for Kids Early Learning Center. Day-care is available from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. year 'round. (Parents may opt for an extended day until 6 p.m.) Children with and without developmental disabilities ages 2.9 to 5 are eligible for this service. Some children attend the day-care program before and after regular pre-school hours and are enrolled in the Prime Time for Kids Early Learning Center during regular school hours.

Verbal Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA )
This highly successful educational offering is designed for children ages 5 through 12 on the autism spectrum or with a diagnosis of pervasive developmental delay. Verbal Behavior is a unique application of Applied Behavior Analysis. The method places emphasis on speech and language development in all daily activities. ABA is based on B.F. Skinner's work concerning behavior modification, and the empirical research of Dr. James Parington. The verbal behavior method utilizes ABA to improve both vocal communication and academic skills. Verbal ABA has also proven to be successful in reducing problem behavior among children with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum or with a diagnosis of pervasive developmental disorder. One-to-one staffing, data collection and data measurement are key to assessing results. Children are grouped according to age. Music, crafts, special events, gym activities, computers, library time, trips and special events are important aspects of this offering.
