Site Supervisor- Residential

Hourly Rate: $25.00 

POSITION SUMMARY:   The Site Supervisor is responsible for managing one of the Agency’s residential homes. This includes all operational, managerial, regulatory, and fiscal responsibilities in the running of the residence. The Site Supervisor has 24-hour responsibility and is on-call to ensure appropriate care, protective oversight, safety, and health requirements of the individuals in the program. Is responsible to maintain the physical environment of the home, ensuring it is well-kept and that all regulatory requirements are being met. Ensures that services are delivered in a manner that is responsive to interests and desires of each individual and his/her family. Participates in Life Plan meetings and provides a leadership and decision-making role for the individual and their families. Supervises training of all Direct Support Professionals. Verifies service delivery and ensures valued outcomes. Serves as program liaison within and between Agency, family, advocates and other programs and providers of services. Serves as advocate and provider for all issues pertaining to the individual receiving the services. Responsible for all aspects of staffing, observes and assists Direct Support Professionals to implement universal procedures and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and Agency policies. The Site Supervisor assists with department development and expansion, policy development, hiring and evaluating subordinates.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: High School diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience: At least three years of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities, residential experience preferred.          

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for all aspects of staffing, observes and assists subordinates to implement Agency procedures and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and Agency policies.
  • Provides overall supervision to residence staff including Lead DSP and Direct Support Professionals utilizing flexible time scheduling to ensure supervision of each shift.
  • Interviews, hires, orients, trains, evaluate work of and disciplines and discharges subordinate staff including Lead DSPs and Direct Support Professionals.        
  • Reviews and reinforces DSP Core Competencies with direct support staff. Conducts quarterly observations of each staff member in preparation for the annual evaluation. Completes performance appraisals, both initial and annual in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that appropriate individual Staff Action Plans are implemented and verifies that accurate daily documentation and monthly notes are maintained on all individuals. Ensures compliance with all Medicaid billing requirements.
  • Develops and writes Staff Action Plans that meet the individuals’ needs based on the individual’s Life Plan. Ensures reviews/updates as required by OPWDD/Medicaid according to mandated timeframes Ens. Trains all staff on each individuals Staff Action Plan to ensure compliance and maintains a record of staff signatures.
  • Maintains and posts scheduled work assignments and adjusts the schedule when necessary to meet the needs of the individuals. Submits weekly schedules as required to the Scheduling Coordinator.
  • Ensures that the personal hygiene needs of the individuals e.g., toileting, bathing and changing as situation warrants are being met.
  • Reviews and signs off on daily data collection and completes on Medisked. Reviews and signs off on other routine records/paperwork required by the Agency and outside regulations. Responsible for checking Med- sked daily to ensure staff have accurately entered the individual(s) goals for the day.
  • Ensure all medical needs of individuals are met, including scheduling and coordination of all medical and therapeutic appointments; as well as the completion of all documentation related to Plans of Nursing Services and medication administration.     
  • Make sure staff follow time and attendance standards, monitor time and attendance on a regular basis and approve time requests promptly. Address staff lateness/punctuality as concerns arise.
  • Manages the individuals’ personal finances, uses QuickBooks by managing up to date ledgers. Responsible to manage and ensure that all individual accounts are maintained in accordance with agency policy and procedures. Ensures overall responsibility and accountability for ongoing internal/external audits of personal allowance funds for individuals within the program.
  • Knows, understands, and follows the DSP Code of Ethics and prevents, recognizes, and reports abuse.            
  • Conducts biweekly staff meetings with all direct care staff. 
  • Develops procedures to ensure the house is kept clean, neat, healthy, and safe by completing daily physical plant walk thru.
  • Ensures that all staff are completing all assigned tasks, along with facilitating the completion of routine household tasks such as laundry, meal preparation in accordance with the menu, shopping, cooking, etc. with the goal of increasing independence of the individuals in performing these functions.
  • Conducts monthly individual supervisory meetings with subordinates to discuss program, personnel or training needs and assess their performance.
  • Ensures staff attend and are current in all OPWDD and Agency required trainings.
  • Advocates on behalf of the individuals in relation to health care providers, local businesses, employers, transportation providers, social groups etc.
  • Attends and participates in Life Plan meetings and provides a leadership and decision-making role for program participants and their families and relay any pertinent information in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for adhering to budgetary guidelines for their program in areas of food, household, and recreation. Submit required receipts and supporting documentation as required in a timely manner.
  • Assists individuals with scheduling recreational activities and outings. Provides or arranges for transportation of the individuals to and from recreational or social programs, work, school, medical appointments etc. as required.
  • Attends Management meetings as scheduled.          
  • Expected to maintain confidentiality.
  • Responsible for their programs on a 24-hour basis.
  • Responsible to manage agency petty cash funds and adhere to agency policy and procedures.
